Orchestral Training Program

at the Symposium for Women and Nonbinary Bassists at the Curtis Institute 

  • Participants will begin the week by playing a mock audition, with the faculty serving as the committee.

    The following two days, participants will have 2 private lessons as well as group classes and masterclasses, with a focus on standard orchestral repertoire and audition preparation. There will also be presentations on audition strategy and techniques, as well as career skills.

    On the fourth day, the participants will perform in an audition again, with prizes being awarded to the highest rated performers.
